About Dr Wilson
Sarah is a qualified Doctor in Counselling Psychology with 18 years’ post qualification experience of working within the sector. She currently offers face to face therapy and online therapy to individuals age 18+ who present with a range of mental health issues. She can offer both short- and long-term therapy to clients.
Sarah works as an integrative therapist, working with the whole person, focusing on thoughts, feelings, behaviour and physical systems of the individual. Integrative therapy incorporates a range of therapies such as Psychodynamic Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness. Using a combination of therapeutic approaches allows her to work with a wide range of presenting issues, ensuring that therapy is tailored to each individuals needs and circumstances.​

Experience
Sarah has experience of working in the NHS in GP practices, private practice and various charities in a psychological profession. She has gained considerable experience working with young adults, adults and older adults with a range of mental health challenges. Before setting up a successful private practice in Harrogate Sarah worked in London for several years for a national cancer charity.
Professional Qualifications
Sarah undertook all her psychological studies at The University of Teesside. In 2003 she completed a Batchelor of Science (BSc Hons) in Psychology (major) and Counselling (minor). She continued her studies in the field, gaining a Post Graduate Diploma (PgDip) in 2004 in Counselling Psychology. In 2006 she graduated from her two-year Doctorate Degree in Counselling Psychology (D,Couns.Psy).
